This website has been created on Squarespace, and I create all of my client's websites on Squarespace as well. There are pros and cons to any platform, but my goal was to find the most feature-rich platform that offered a super-simple user experience, and Squarespace does that better than anyone!

For the sake of simplicity in workflow, I'm currently focused exclusively on Squarespace websites - whether I’m creating a new website for you there, or helping you move your website from another platform to Squarespace.

If you already have a website in Wordpress and would like to keep your website there, I will make an exception. There is an additional fee of $500 for Wordpress, as there will be significant additional work required.

I’m well-aware of the other popular website platforms out there, including Shopify, Wix, Framer, etc. I’ve made an intentional decision about the platforms I’m working in, and am glad to explain more during your consultation.

Absolutely! However, we'll just treat the project like a new website - giving us the opportunity to make improvements to your website while maintaining the elements that work really well.

Once you've purchased the website package, submitted the questionnaire and associated files - and I've confirmed I have all information and files I need from you - the clock starts! I'll have the first draft of your website design completed in 5 business days, and submit that to you for review. A first draft is a 70-80% version - most structure and content is there, with various refinements to be made before the final version is published.

I can make up to one round of changes based on feedback you give me from the first draft, and then show you how to make the website live if you don't already know how. Once your site is live, I will do an SEO / AEO review and make any necessary remaining updates before marking the project complete.

If you work with larger development companies, you're helping pay their payroll and dealing with more complicated workflows - hence the higher costs and longer turnaround times.

If you work with a smaller company or individual designer, they may be a bit less expensive than the larger company - but inefficiency in their workflow means the process takes longer and thus still costs quite a bit.

I'm a solo design studio using highly efficient workflows - including the wonderful Squarespace website platform - and thus can keep costs down while getting work done quickly.

In the previously linked best practices information, I reference Simpler Project. This is project management software I designed for my clients and for other service business owners. It is where you can keep track of the progress of your website, and where most communication related to the project will happen.

For a website build or redesign, I’m focused on implementing core SEO and AI Search principles within the Squarespace platform. I’ll make sure that page titles, page descriptions, headings and image metadata are all in place. I’ll also make sure that each page contains the appropriate amount of copy for stronger rankings, and a conversational content style that plays well with both SEO and AI Search. I’ll also guide you in getting connected to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.

If you’d like a more comprehensive assessment and updates to your site for the purposes of further improving SEO and AI Search, I’m available for A La Carte, hourly work. Feel free to send me a note, and I’ll give you a quote based on my $99/hr rate.

After I build and submit your website to you, you can request one round of changes to the site. After these changes are made and the site goes live, any additional work can be purchased A La Carte at my $99/hr rate.

Of course the Squarespace platform is quite user-friendly, so you can always make changes yourself, but I’d love the opportunity to be your go-to solution for updates to your site on an ongoing basis!

There's plenty in life that's necessarily complicated. Physics. Nuclear engineering. Trying to figure out why there are so many Fast and Furious movies.

But most things in our day-to-day existence - especially business websites - don't have to be that complicated. And even better, simplicity (minimal number of parts) means less to keep up with, less stress as a result, being able to work more efficiently, and ultimately enabling your clients to focus on what matters when they're trying to do business with you!

That's intentional - black and white has been part of my brands for a very long time! But I know that most people like a little color in their life, so I do ask for your brand colors in your onboarding questionnaire. I'll make sure to use those colors for your website. Your website will naturally be more colorful if you also provide color images for your website.
